The mighty Promenade des Anglais is hugging the rocky shores of Nice for several kilometers and runs along the sunny waterfront where joggers, walkers and skaters cross under the palm trees. The typical blue chairs of the promenade scattered along the way, provide the perfect angle from which you can admire the azure blue sea stretching as far as the eye can see. Several galleries and art museums are located in the streets running into the promenade and it’s a great idea to explore them. Our holiday home in Cagnes sur Mer is the ideal base for exploring Nice.

At the eastern end of the promenade, the Jardin Albert I is a beautiful garden full of fountains flowers and rare trees. The Old Town of Nice with narrow, shady streets, cozy squares, and colorful markets feels just as it was two centuries ago. You can easily reach this spot from our holiday homes in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Each year in February the city of Nice stages the Nice Carnival. On weekend afternoons and Saturday night a huge celebration takes over the city center.

The carnival starts with a series of processions on floats paraded along the Promenade des Anglais culminating in a spectacular firework on the beach, celebrated by the thousands of carnival revelers. There’s even an exclusive flower procession where hundreds of different flower varieties are beautifully arranged on floats and paraded through the public. Elegant, but affordable, Nice is a captivating destination in its own right and our holiday homes in La Croix Valmer serve as a fantastic base for exploring the Cote d’Azur’s many wonders.

Cannes is the town of „stars”, prestigious festivals and palatial hotels attracting people longing for the perfect blend of sun, sea and super chic shopping.

Famous for its good climate, luxurious hotels, glamorous villas, cars and beaches, Cannes became well-known among jet-setters, aristocrats and celebrities. The city extends along the world-famous La Croisette boulevard stretching along the shore lined with palm-trees. This sidewalk is a symbol of Cannes charm with upscale shops, trendy boutiques, posters promoting the latest movie premiers and wonderful cafes where you can rent a chaise lounge and your drink will be served a few steps from the water. Most visitors make a short trip to Palais des Festivals, a huge complex of building set on the beach.

Cannes is the place for the best known annual International Film Festival which takes over the city every May. Images of stars descending from the red-carpeted steps surrounded by paparazzi are projected around the world. If you haven't got the chance to spot one of the stars walking along the boulevards of Cannes, you can still see the Allee des Etoiles where more than 300 celebrities have placed autographed imprints of their hands. The main tourist activity in Cannes is tanning on the beach and you will find crowds of sun lovers flocking from everywhere to check out the lifestyle. Most of our holiday homes and apartments on Cote d'Azur are located near the beach or have private swimming pool.

Many of Cannes beach areas are private properties of luxury hotels that run along the shining stretch of La Croisette offering privacy to wealthy clients and celebrities during the film festival. In most cases you can still enjoy the sun alongside the hotel guests by paying an entrance fee which includes your deck chair and sun umbrella hire. Further west and east you will find free beaches like the Plages du Midi or near the Palace of Festivals but they get very crowded in summer just as everywhere on French Riviera. Our holiday parks on Cote d'Azur are situated near the major public beaches. One of the best ways to get an idea about Cannes in general is to get on the Petit Train Turistique de Cannes rolling on rubber tires through the streets of the city.

The western part of the Cote'Azur begins at Saint Tropez, the favorite playground of celebrities, supermodels and wealthy aristocrats who come here to sunbathe, shop and party in classy restaurants, clubs, beaches and yachts.

Once a sleepy fishing town, Saint Tropez become the cherished spot for chic Parisians and international stars after the arrival of Brigitte Bardot in the 50s. Huge yachts with high-class crew line up in the port drawing the attention of the well dressed visitors who like to sit at the outdoor cafés hoping either to be seen or to see somebody. But you don't need to have a platinum credit card to enjoy the charms of Saint Tropez. Our holiday homes in Grimaud and La Croix Valmer are just minutes away from this sparkling city.

Give yourself time to explore the narrow little streets and markets. Place aux Herbes is a nice market with fishermen offering their catch and farmers from the surrounding villages selling fruits and vegetables. The real heart of the town is the Place des Lices. Here, you can play boules with the locals under the shadow of plane trees. There are some fine restaurants in the surroundings and it won't cost a fortune to try the local cuisine.

If shopping is something you never miss, all the great French and Italian designers have boutiques in St Tropez. At night the town comes alive with hundreds of nightclubs and bars that stay open until dawn. The main beaches of St Tropez are the best in France. They lay on the stretch of coastline known as the Plage de Pampelonne. Over 40 private beach clubs rent sun loungers and serve food and drinks. The most notorious beach is Club 55, remembering the year in which Roger Vadim filmed "And God Created Women" in St Tropez. This film produced two French icons, Brigitte Bardot and the town of St Tropez.
